Running an assisted living facility means accepting responsibility for some of the most vulnerable people in your community. That responsibility deserves an insurance partner who understands the unique risks you face every day — not a generalist broker working from a checklist. Centurion Insurance Services specializes in commercial insurance for assisted living facilities across the country. We work with multiple A-rated carriers to build coverage programs tailored to how your facility actually
operates.
Conditions change daily in the energy and manufacturing industries. Factors including economic demand, global trading markets, government regulations and political climates create volatility. Although we cannot control the possibilities afforded by these changes, we can control how we respond to them. Centurion understands the realities of these fluctuating conditions and how to help your business respond.
One of the best responses to volatility is advocacy – having an insurance team who will help you navigate an ever-changing landscape. Our team members dig deep to understand our client partners and their business needs. We pair our expertise with knowledge of your business to create innovative insurance solutions for each client. Most importantly, Centurion will be there to support your company when you need us.

Assisted living facilities face a distinct and serious liability profile. The most common exposures our clients need protection against include:
General liability and premises liability — slip-and-fall incidents, visitor injuries, and property
damage claims to supervise residents
Abuse and molestation liability — physical, emotional, and sexual abuse allegations, which standard policies often exclude
Workers’ compensation — injuries to staff providing hands-on care in a physically demanding environment
Commercial property — building, contents, and equipment including medical and assistive devices
Commercial auto — facility-owned vehicles used for resident transport
Cyber liability — protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA and electronic medical records breaches
Directors and officers (D&O) — for privately held and nonprofit facilities
A well-structured ALF insurance program typically includes:
Protects against third-party bodily injury and property damage claims occurring on your premises. This is the foundation of your program.
Covers claims arising from care provided by your staff — including nursing staff, medication aides, and certified nursing assistants. This coverage is essential for any facility providing health-related services.
Many standard policies exclude abuse-related claims. We work to ensure your policy explicitly includes— not excludes — this critical protection.
Covers your building, furniture, medical equipment, and business personal property against fire, storm, theft, and other covered perils.
Required by law in most states and critical in a care setting where staff injuries are common.
Extends your liability limits above your underlying policies for catastrophic claims.
Unlike a direct carrier or captive agent, Centurion Insurance Services is not tied to any single insurance company. That means we shop your account across multiple carriers to find the right combination of coverage and price — and we advocate for you when a claim is filed. We understand the operational realities of assisted living — state licensing requirements, staffing challenges, resident acuity levels, and the regulatory environment that varies from state to state. That context makes us a more effective advocate and advisor than a generalist broker who writes one or two ALF accounts per year.

Premiums vary based on facility size, number of beds, location, claims history, and coverage limits. Most ALF programs range from a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars annually. Contact us for a facility-specific quote.
No. General liability and professional liability are separate coverages. A CGL policy typically excludes claims arising from professional services. You need both.
Not always — and this is one of the most important questions to ask your broker. Some carriers offer it as an endorsement; others exclude it entirely. We make sure it is explicitly addressed in every program we build.
We currently work with assisted living facilities nationwide.
Contact us directly by phone or through our website. We typically need basic information about your facility — number of beds, services offered, staffing, and claims history — to start the quoting process.
